It’s time to run! And beer…!
Hi beer runners!
We had a great group show up the other week at BlackStack! New friends and old friends showed up and it was a beautiful evening for a run and some beer!
Our run took us east farther into St. Paul from BlackStack along a very pretty Minnehaha Ave. Back at BlackStack, we tried a number their great beers, this writer particularly enjoyed the New England IPA on tap!
There are two fantastic looking 5k races this upcoming weekend put on by members of our club. If you are itching for a run, you should check them out!
- Ben Ferrin brings us the Erickson Merkel Foundation EMF Workhorse 5k/10k. Registration is at active.com. It’s a great organization to get behind.
- Aaron and Jeff have run with us before. This weekend their brewery turns 1 year old! Lupulin Brewing, which we ran from last summer, is hosting a celebratory 5k on Saturday morning.
This week we are making a break from our usual run and heading slightly outside our normal area, but it’s worth the small extra distance. The guy who came up with the idea for this crazy group, Derek, is the head brewer at a soon to be opened brewery, Unmapped Brewing in Minnetonka. He has invited us to his place for a run and a tour! This is a private event just for us and will likely be your only opportunity to check out Unmapped before the open in the very near future!
Unfortunately Unmapped doesn’t have any beer available yet so we are asking people to please bring your own beverages on Thursday. Feel free to bring extra to swap and share and if you forget, there will be extra so don’t worry!
Come join us Thursday at for a 30 minute run, followed by some great beer. As always, we will meet at Unmapped at about 6:20pm around the front of their facility and will start our run at 6:30 sharp so please plan to get there and parked on time. After our 30 minute run we’ll meet back at Unmapped for a post-run beverage and what is sure to be an awesome evening!
