It was a dark and stormy night…for a run in St Paul along the river! The weather for our run at Red River City house could have been a little nicer but we’re not going to complain.
The skies seemed to open up just a bit before our run and dumped almost an inch of rain on the area but it was still a beautiful evening for a run! Turnout was less than sometimes but it was fun to check out how a food and beer cart would work in a permanent location.
This author was recovering from illness and didn’t run but our runners took off south along the river heading under the high bridge and out to Shepard Road. A little past Randolph they reached their 15 minute point and headed back.
Red River City House is an interesting place. It’s in a covered building but still open to the elements. They have a food truck outside and a beer cart inside. The beer selection was reasonable, with our friends from Lift Bridge having a some special options on tap that night.
If you are in the area, definitely check them out. They are a good option for a quick beverage or snack if you are down along the river for a run.
Next week we are heading back to Minneapolis and Day Block Brewing. It’s been a couple years since we have been there and we are looking forward to seeing what they have been up to.
As the days grow darker, remember it’s probably time to start finding your night running gear like reflective clothing and blinkers. Sun will be setting in the middle of our run so be prepared.
